History at Home: A Guide to Genealogy, written by Andrea Davis. We were recently contacted by Alex Moore about this useful genealogy article published on the Home Advisor website. He suggested we add this article to our resources page and we agreed as it contains an extensive list of additional online genealogical resources. Thank you Alex!

Doran Family Tree (Rootswebconnect) Hasn't been updated in over 2 years.

Ancestry.com Trees Start your own family tree at Ancestry.com. Some services are free, others require a paid subscription; however you might be able to access most of what Ancestry.com offers for free at your local library. Both Genealogy Sisters each have our own world wide subscription and find it well worth the cost.

RootsIreland Most services require a paid subscription, but this database has proven a treasure trove for our family.

Census Records for Ireland - 1901 & 1911 Easy to search. I copy and down load records into an Excel spreadsheet and then sort them every which way to find clues to our family history.

Irish Midlands Ancestry - Offaly, Ireland history

Doran Family Genealogy Forum - not ours, but very interesting for all Dorans

Geneabloggers - wonderful resource created by Thomas MacEntee

Polish Genealogical Society of America the motherlode of Polish genealogy in the US.

Catholic Parish Registers at the National Library of Ireland - not all parishes, no index, but if you have an idea where your relative lived, and what year they were born and/or married, it's just like the old days when you searched through microfilms at the local FHC, except you can do it at home from your computer.
