Of no real help to your research but James Thompson was my great grandfather. Two of his sons (James and Nevay) were also photographers and after (presumably) serving an apprenticeship with their father they, in turn, opened studios in Ballymena (James jnr.) and (London)Derry (Nevay – my grandfather). We’re still looking for death dates etc. On all except Nevay who died 3 Jan 1924 aged just 32 from Pneumonia.
