These lovely church ladies were attending Mass on Easter Sunday in 1945. Mary Mirota was in the back row on the left, and according to the Parish History page of The Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, the priest was Father Albert Tomaszewski. Here’s a link to the church: http://www.ollwhs.org/OurParish/ParishHistory.aspx
Who were the rest of these pretty church women? They look like they could have belonged to the Rosary Altar Society. The church is located in Whitehouse Station, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.

I also think the hats are marvelous! I had to wear a hat and white gloves to church as a child. Those days are long gone!

I remember wearing gloves, but hats only on Easter when i was very young. In 7th grade I had matching gloves, purse, shoes, all bright kelly green! That’s when hats were out of fashion :(.

I had to wear gloves marching in parades with Girl Scouts, too. Wow, you were a fashion gal! My mom had a lovely Kelly green coat when I was young. Love that color!
