Sometimes when publishing genealogy records it is a wise practice to omit parts of information for privacy reasons. Putting brackets around your own personal notes helps the reader know you have done so. In this case I’ve left out the addresses of Mary Mahoney Doran’s children. Also, Mary Mahoney Doran’s daughter, Elizabeth Peck, was not married to William – the first name is in error.  Information gathered for obituaries is usually done while the family is very distraught and sometimes they contain mistakes.

Here below is the Burial Record for Mary Doran, thanks to Cousin Michael. This helps locate her actual burial plot in a very large cemetery. Along the paved roads throughout Holy Cross Cemetery there are identification barrels to show the different sections. The office staff are also very helpful and can help locate on a map the location of the graves.

Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, Bergen County, New Jersey, is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark and was established in 1915. To date there are over 250,000 internments, so you can see why it is helpful to know the section! This record below is an old one, and the hours and telephone number have changed. Call the Cemetery Office: (888) 467-8903  OR (201) 997-1900 for more information.
