The last two weeks in January found me running genealogy workshops at the local library where I’ve been a volunteer for several years. I had such a nice time teaching folks who had no idea where to start and other folks who have been researching for years but are interested in learning about other resources available to them. Before the workshop ended we decided it would be fun to get together on a monthly basis. So we are having our first meeting tomorrow at the Community Library. I don’t know where this will lead but I’m very excited about meeting with like minded people doing genealogy research on a regular basis.

Update: June 2022, our genealogy club is still getting together once a month, although our meeting place changed after the pandemic during which we met by Zoom.
