
This photograph of the monument of the Arc de Triomphe Paris, was taken sometime in December 1944 by James F. Doran of Harrison, New Jersey. He landed on Utah Beach on D-Day with the 4th Division, and was severely wounded on 8 June 1944. After time in the hospital to recover, he served as a Military Policeman in France with the 389th Battalion. This photograph was taken after receiving a pass to Paris.
