One of the joys of doing genealogy is connecting with cousins. Sometimes these cousins have photographs of family to share, and I feel like I have just hit the lottery. This delightful photo was sent to my sister and I in 2003, from our second cousin Robin Rafferty Benesh. She in turn had obtained the scan from her cousin, Claudette, and the James Rafferty family. The beautiful lady on the right is supposed to have been Elizabeth Doran Rafferty (1886-1933). She was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and had married Thomas Rafferty there in 1906. This photo could have been taken in Kearny, Hudson County, New Jersey.

The Rafferty family thinks that Elizabeth was in some kind of play. She was noted in the family for having a lovely singing voice, and had won singing and dancing contests in Belfast. The rest of the cast is a mystery!

Wordless Wednesday is a blogging prompt suggested by Geneabloggers. Good luck with your photo mysteries!
