My first crush was my brother’s friend, Ray. Here in this photo, I’m happily holding Ray’s hand on an early spring day in our yard. My brother’s hair looks like it hasn’t seen a comb in days! Ray was a dashing redhead, who was always very funny and kind. Sadly, he died much too young after an accident.
In memory of Raymond A. Sabo (1953 – 1977). May he rest in peace.
My first crush was in kindergarten. He had red hair as well. His name was Kyle. Have no idea where he is now.

Oh those kindergarten crushes! Such strong emotions. Thanks for your comment, Judy. My dad had red hair, too. Maybe that’s why I’ve always liked red-heads.

The first crush I remember was a boy named Todd, who gave me a birthday kiss in Kindergarten!

How nice to hear of your Kindergarten crush. I can remember being that age vividly. I bet Todd remembers that birthday kiss, too!

Hilary, Sounds like your crush was a wee bit older than you, but very memorable!

Ray Sabo was nice a nice boy. Do you have the photo of the gang on the old hay wagon? I think Ray might be in that photo too.
