Remembering when Christmas trees weren’t perfect!
Some of my fondest memories are of picking out a nicely shaped cedar Christmas tree, like the one above, when I was a child. We had permission to go to our neighbor Mrs. Stack’s field, to find our tree and chop it down. I think my eldest brother was in charge of the axe, since he was the most responsible one of the four of us. We were allowed to drag home whichever tree we wanted. Sometimes my sister and I would also cut down a tiny tree to decorate and keep in our bedroom. I still cherish these old glass ornaments!
Whatever holiday you celebrate, I hope it is a happy time for you and your loved ones!
